Maintenance Manager – Eastern Cape
Client based in Eastern Cape that provides a wide product range to the Steel industry is looking for a Maintenance Manager to manage and Coordinate the maintenance activities to improve reliability and performance.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance to safety, health, environmental, quality policies, and standards
- Plan, organise, lead and control maintenance work activities in both mechanical and electrical fields
- Achieve and sustain equipment reliability levels to achieve OEE objectives
- Project planning and execution
- Responsible for planned and unplanned maintenance on machines
- Assemble, install, repair, and maintain machinery and equipment as required and as per OEM standards
- Optimise planned maintenance inspection cards to be predictive and preventative
- Management of sub-contractors including their safety and quality of work
- Training
- Develop team members with respect to equipment specifications, operating standards, and fault-finding
- Develop tools / systems / processes to improve knowledge and skills transfer
- Manage and assess the performance of individual team members
- Continuous Improvement
- Optimise production and maintenance processes to improve productivity and reliability
- Root Cause Analysis of factors causing poor machine performance
- Key KPI’s –Machine availability, break down performance, OEE, cost, continuous improvement
Requirements:
- Qualified Technician N.Dip
- Qualified Artisan
- Minimum 7 Years with relevant work experience
- Preferably in a management role
- Preference for electrical experience and qualification
- Computer Literacy- SAP, Microsoft suite and MS Projects
- Metal processing plant experience would be an advantage
- Working in a team environment
- Must have the ability to lead and organise during a machine repair or installation
- Apply general rules, mathematical methods, information, and machine manuals
- Sound knowledge of a maintenance and production environment
- Good client relations, communication skills including verbal aptitude
- Must have the capacity to work with cognitive concepts
- Have specific knowledge/experience to enhance machine performance.
- Must be able to perform tasks required physically
- Visualize the invisible such as electrical and hydraulic circuits
- Able to orientate, have physical endurance, hearing sensitivity, depth perception and colour matching
- The capacity for working with numbers and numerical/mathematical concepts
- Effective transfer of knowledge and skills to subordinates and colleagues Take responsibility and make things happen
