Office Admin/Bookkeeper

We are seeking a strong, responsible individual to join our Client’s team as an Office Administrator/Bookkeeper. The ideal candidate will excel under pressure in a deadline-oriented environment and have a proven track record in managing large volumes of work in a manufacturing setting. This role demands precision, multitasking, and comprehensive knowledge of financial processes and software.
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
Process cash book entries and perform cash book reconciliations.
Bring books up to the trial balance level.
Prepare VAT reconciliations and other statutory returns.
Perform general ledger reconciliations.
Oversee debtors, creditors, invoicing, and payroll.
Maintain the asset register.
Compile VAT return schedules.
Conduct general ledger reconciliations for all payroll-related accounts.
Process payroll for casual labor.
Prepare and monitor cash flow against forecasts.
Handle daily banking activities, including loading cash payments onto Nedbank Business Online.
Process cash book entries and perform bank reconciliations.
Reconcile fuel and credit card statements.
Handle forex payments, customs clearance, and costing of goods.
Ensure compliance with import procedures for raw materials and capital goods (e.g., machinery).
Manage the export of finished goods.
Manage company fleet.
Ensure all departments meet deadlines for month-end closure.
Assist with administrative tasks related to new finance leases.
Perform various ad hoc administrative duties as needed.
 
Experience:
Solid experience with Pastel Partner, especially in financial processing tasks.
Strong knowledge of Excel.
Previous experience in a large manufacturing environment handling significant volumes of work.
 
Skills:
Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Proficient in VAT and statutory returns preparation.

Ability to work closely with directors and act as a right-hand person.
 
Ideal Candidate:
Resides in or around Phoenix and surrounding areas.
Comfortable handling complex financial tasks and large volumes.
