CONTRACT: Bookkeeper, NGO, Durban

Position: Finance and Administration Support Officer  – 1 year contract.  
  
Purpose of the Role: To support the financial reconciliations and reporting.
Key Responsibilities / Key Performance Areas:
        1. PROJECT PROPOSAL BUDGETS
        • To assist in the broad costing of project expenses.
        • To draw up project draft proposal budgets for prospective donors/funders.
        • To align project budgets to the overall operational budget.
        • To draw up project working budgets and track against actual
        • Prepare monthly financial management reports  
        • Manage and report on petty cash expenditure  
2. PROJECT FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT
        • To track project spend and identify variances (budget vs. actual)  
        • Together with the project team, analyse, investigate and address the issues highlighted in variance reports.
        • To identify and manage processes in the financial risk management of project spend.
        • To help analyse field requirements for project financial support.
        • Support asset register stock taking and protocols
        • Tracking vehicle use and leases
3. PROJECT FINANCIAL REPORTS TO MANAGEMENT
        • To compile internal financial project reports.
        • To liaise with donors on contractual and financial issues.
4. PROJECT FINANCIAL REPORT TO DONORS
        • To compile the financial donor reports.
        • To ensure that financial reports to donors meet all the financial conditions of grant and contract agreements
        • Minute taking for finance meetings  
        1. FINANCIAL CONTROLS AND REPORTING  
        • Formulating financial targets and budgets  
        • Overall control of all financial transactions and accountancy matters,  
        • Facilitating the external audit process
        • Managing company policies regarding capital requirements, debt, taxation, equity and acquisitions, as appropriate
        • Preparing annual accounts  
        • Ensuring that the regulatory requirements of all Statutory bodies are met regarding the companys financial affairs
 
Knowledge and Experience:
        • Financial qualification  
        • Min 2 years experience
